Set Up
In the photography studio, we set up three lights on tripods to add interesting colours to the shot, along with our camera. We filmed the same section of the music video over and over again with different lighting to present how the protagonist's mood is changing over time.
The rest of the shots were filmed around the Long Road campus, using the camera shown in the images below.
Plan/Comparison
Script
There were no changes to the audio in the final version, so the script also stayed the same. There is only one section in the video that heavily features lip-syncing, which begins as the singer starts singing, and ends when the protagonist leaves to go to the bathroom.
Storyboard
The plan for the storyboard was vastly different from the final music video for a couple of reasons. Due to COVID-19, we couldn't use sets like the arcade anymore as per the rules and restrictions that came along with it. We also ended up changing sections of the video to make it work better.
Animatic
The animatic had a very different flow of events from the final video. For example, in the animatic the protagonist would stand up and go to the bathroom, and then come back to the arcade machine, and then bash the arcade machine and leave again. In the final video, we didn't have the arcade machine, and leaving twice didn't fit the flow of the video, so I decided to change it.
Safe Working Practices
For every shot that we took inside, we made sure to follow COVID-19 guidelines, staying 2 metres apart and wearing masks at all times, excluding Sorin (the performer) who had to remove his mask whenever the camera started rolling.
